Situations

At the gas station

In the USA most of service stations or gas stations are self service. First you need to pay in the convenience store and you will be informed which pump you are supposed to use. In the full-service gas station there is always someone to help you. Please don’t forget to give him a tip.

A- May I help you, sir?

B- I would like to fill the tank, please.

A-Do you want leaded or unleaded gas?

B- Leaded is ok. It seems I have a flat tire. Can you please check it?

A- No problem. Let’s get the jack and I’ll lift up the car.

B- How many gallons?

A- I think 20 will be fine.

B- Let’s get the spare tire. There seems to be something wrong with the gearbox. We’d

better call for a tow truck.

B- Please provide it. Meanwhile can you wash my car?

A- Sure. Do you want me to use antifreeze to clean the windscreen?

B- That’s a good idea and also check the battery, please.

A- Look here’s the tow truck.

B- Very kind of you. Let me pay you.

C- May I help you, sir?

B- Is there any garage nearby?

C- There is one four blocks away.

B- Let’s go then, hope there will be no traffic jam in the way.
