Exchanging money at the airport
Whenever you travel to a foreign country you must know about its currency.
Today we will be ariving in San Francisco, USA.
At the airport we can exchange some travellers´check for cash in dollars bills.
A-Excuse me sir, I would lilke to exchange a US$100.00 traveller check into cash.
B-May I have your passaport and flight ticket, sir?
A-Here you are. I need a lot of change.
B-You may choose: I can change your traveller check in many ways.
A-Really? Good! Let´s see what you can do for me.
B-You may have some bills like: US$50.00, US$20.00, US$10.00, US$5.00 and US$1.00.
A-How nice, so I want different bills up to US$100,00.
B-Would you like some coins, too?
A-Excuse me, sir, I don´t know anything about the American coins.
B- That´s very easy. In the USA we have the folowing coins: US$1.00, 50 cents=half dollar,25cents=a quarter, 10 cents=a dime, 5 cents=a nickel and 1 cent coin = a penny.
A-Please give me US$10.00 in coins, I know we can use them in many machines.
B-Ah! I forgot to tell you that you may hear a slang for dollars. People may say: bucks, so be prepared to hear the expression: it´s five bucks or so.
A-Thank you for your orientation.
B-You are welcome and please here is your receipt for this transaction.
A-Thank you once more, good bye.
