Adjectives modify nouns.

Ex.: a pretty girl.

Ex.: too late. Many adverbs are formed by adding – ly to the adjective or a prefix or suffix to a noun.

Ex.: sincere=sincerely; board=aboard and week=weekly.

Exercise: Fill in the blanks, transforming the adjectives into adverbs:

1- Tom played_________ (terrible) last evening.

2- She_______ (kind) answered my letter.
